Dr. Soorya Hebbar

Dr. Soorya Hebbar A is a Samskrit scholar with a Ph.D. in Sahitya, known for his deep engagement with classical literature, creative writing, and pedagogy. A Gold Medalist in both Shastri (B.A.) and Acharya (M.A.), he is also an accomplished Ashtavadhani, having performed over 20 Ashtavadhanas across India.

Educated at Kendriya Samskrita Vidyalaya, Sringeri, Dr. Hebbar holds degrees in Sahitya (Ph.D. and M.A.) and Education (B.Ed.), following early schooling in Andinje and Kokradi.

He currently serves as Sub Editor of Sambhashana Sandesha, a prominent Samskrit monthly, and teaches Sahitya as a Guest Lecturer at MIT Pune. His previous role includes contributing to the Samskrit Wiki project as a Project Fellow.
Among his achievements are multiple national-level medals in Samskrit competitions and recognition at the Inter-University Youth Festival.

His published works include the Samskrit novel विद्या(लय)वारिधिः (2024), children’s translations बुक्केन पाठः पठितः and चन्द्रः गणनां विस्मृतवान् (NBT, 2021), and the workbook अङ्कनीनियन्त्रणम्.
