MA Sanskrit – Announcement
MIT IIKS announces the launch of the next batch of its masters’ program designed for the 21st century seekers. This authentic, convenient and customizable program is meant for the smart seeker yearning to dive deep into the ocean of knowledge available in the Sanskrit language.
The full program is available in two modes
- MA degree in Sanskrit (Recognized by Kavikulaguru Kalidasa Sanskrit University, Ramtek, India)
- Masters’ Certificate in Sanskrit (Certified by MIT IIKS)
Program Details MA degree in Sanskrit (Recognized by Kavikulaguru Kalidasa Sanskrit University, Ramtek, India)
MIT IIKS is recognized as an Institute for Skill Education and Professional Education (RISPE) by Kavikulaguru Kalidasa Sanskrit University (KKSU), Ramtek. The MA Sanskrit degree is therein a program certified by KKSU.
The following is the list of documents, whose originals are to be produced as scanned images for verification at the time of admission.

If providing documents pertaining to MA degree program is difficult for you, we would recommend you take the Certificate program option, which waives the documentation requirement. If you are not keen on a university degree but are studying out of passion, then this is an attractive and convenient option.
Masters’ Certificate in Sanskrit
- The course work and assessment model of Masters’ Certification are identical with MA degree in Sanskrit.

Entrance criteria for the program in both modes – Sanskrit Language Proficiency Test (SLP)
Admission offers will be made on first-come-first-served basis upon completion of SLP test (ongoing from Jan 20 – May 31). Visit here for more details on the SLP.
There is a free preview available for your self-assessment at https://vedavaapi.moodlecloud.com/. Please access the preview test immediately by logging into this site with username ‘vvsampler‘ and password ‘atithiH‘. After logging in, click on the course named “Sanskrit Proficiency Test – Preview” and launch the quiz. This quiz offers a few samples of all the question types to expect in the real test.
Need help with Sanskrit proficiency? (before attempting SLP Test)
While you are free to acquire the requisite Sanskrit language proficiency from anywhere, MIT IIKS offers a paid online 40-day certificate course called “Sanskrit-1 – Thinking in Sanskrit” to help you quickly ramp up to understand spoken Sanskrit like a native speaker – without memorization or translations. Admission Workflow – For residents of India
Here are all the steps for admission. Skip ahead to the step that applies to you.
- Fill the MIT IIKS program registration form
- Register for the entrance test – Sanskrit Language Proficiency (SLP):
- Follow instructions here
- Fee is ₹ 500
- Optionally, to gain proficiency in Sanskrit, enroll in the Sanskrit-1 course of MIT IIKS to help prepare for the SLP test, if needed.
- Follow instructions here
- Fee is ₹ 2000
- Take the SLP Test (by May 31)
- When notified that you have passed the test and offered admission, pay the annual fee within a week of receipt of the offer (by June 1). Payment instructions will be included in the admission offer.
